Elevating a new build with depth and detail

North Sydney Duplex began as a strong architectural new build, thoughtfully designed yet longing for warmth and personality. Our clients asked us to elevate the vision—adding character, flow and a contemporary feel that would connect the exterior seamlessly to the interior.

We refined the façade finishes selections to introduce texture and depth, layering brick, charcoal accents and timber elements to create a welcoming first impression. Inside, our scope covered all finishes, carefully curating warm paint tones, polished concrete floors softened with rugs, natural wool carpets to bedrooms and linen curtains for softness and light control. The goal was to ensure every space felt cohesive and considered.

The kitchen became the heart of the home, featuring spotted gum timber cabinetry, natural stone benchtops and brushed bronze tapware, grounded by polished concrete floors. In the bathrooms, a consistent palette of timber vanities, Calacatta Gold benchtops, grey terrazzo tiles and a sage green feature wall tile creates warmth and quiet luxury. The laundry continues the material story with timber joinery, polished concrete and bronze detailing—proving even functional spaces deserve intention.

The challenge was to bring soul to a new build and avoid a generic duplex feel. Through thoughtful material selection and refined detailing, we’ve added depth, cohesion and long-term value—enhancing both lifestyle and market appeal.
