Every meaningful transformation begins with a shared vision.

When Nx Studio was engaged to deliver the full interior and exterior refurbishment of this existing restaurant, the goal wasn’t simply to renovate — it was to honour what was already there while carefully shaping what it could become. From the outset, the relationship with the client and builder was grounded in collaboration, trust, and a shared commitment to sustainability.

Rather than strip the space back entirely, we chose to work with it. Existing features were retained and enhanced wherever possible, allowing the story of the restaurant to continue while introducing new, complementary elements. A bespoke new shopfront — framed by a portal crafted from recycled timber — sets the tone from the street. Inside, recycled timber flooring and wall cladding bring warmth and continuity, while reclaimed brick adds texture, depth, and a sense of history.

Sustainability guided each design decision. The internal and external signage was completely reimagined, feature lighting was introduced to create a welcoming glow, and custom joinery and furniture were thoughtfully designed to reflect the restaurant’s identity. Even the existing bar fronts and tops were carefully refurbished — preserving their original structure while refining their finish — reducing waste and celebrating craftsmanship.

The result is more than a refurbishment. It is a layered, character-filled space where reclaimed materials meet considered modern design. A restaurant shaped not only by aesthetics, but by values — and by a close working partnership that ensured every detail was delivered with care and intention.
